Xiaochuan Wang, Ph.D.

Chairman and CEO, Dr. Wang has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago and 14 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in the US. She has experienced all stages of new drug discovery and development, studying over 14 different drug targets at various stages. Dr. Wang has worked for three pharmaceutical companies and worked a major CRO company, and she has been responsible for new drug development and CRO programs at pharmaceutical companies in USA, Europe, and Japan. Dr. Wang currently holds an Adjunct Professorship in the Pharmacy Academy of Wuhan University.

Shawn (Xiongwei) Shi, Ph.D.

Executive Vice President, Dr. Shi has a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from State University of New York (SUNY) and worked as a post-doc at Cornell University. He worked for 9 years at Schering-Plough in the US on chemical process development and the commercial production of intermediates and APIs, including drug candidates for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, AIDS, and anti-fungal and anti-cancer agents in cGMP environments. Dr. Shi has published more than 20 papers in international journals and holds many patents. He is also the founder of United PharmaTech Company, which merged with Sundia in 2007.

Jihui Yu

Finance Controller, Ms. Yu is a CPA and Certified Auditor, having majored in Accounting and Economics at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. She has 14 years of broad experience in corporate accounting, auditing, finance management, internal control, and investment functions with foreign investment companies in China, including Jardine OneSolution, Morningside, and Philips Investments. She has also worked with INFOR and Symix as a Senior Consultant for Finance Management/ERP System Implementation serving joint venture and foreign investment companies in China.

Chen Chen, Ph.D.

Senior VP of Chemistry, Dr. Chen has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, China. He did a post-doc at Texas A&M University with Nobel Laureate, Professor Sir Derek H. R. Barton, and a post-doc at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Dr. Chen spent 15 years at Neurocrine as Scientist to Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry on multiple drug discovery projects, including the discovery of NBI-42902, elagolix, and NBI-30775 (R121919). He has published nearly 130 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and is the co-holder of over 25 US patents.

Charlie Maher

Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining Sundia, Mr.Maher served as Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing of Azopharma Product Development Group, a CRO company in Florida, USA. He has 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, including working in Proceryon Biosciences and Bio-Rad Laboratories in USA. Mr. Maher has extensive experience in leading many aspects of CRO operations. Mr. Maher has a double major degree in marketing management and chemistry from Miami University, and obtained his MBA degree from Ohio State University in USA.

Jiong Chen, Ph.D.

Vice President of Chemistry, Dr. Chen has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Texas Tech University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Oregon State University and Texas A&M University, and he worked at Discovery Partners International, USA, a San Diego-based CRO company, for 6 years. Dr. Chen is experienced in the area of combinatorial chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and custom synthesis, as well as project management. He has co-authored 15 research articles and 2 book chapters.
