Our senior management team is composed with PhDs and MBAs. Prior to joining Sundia, they all have over 10 years of experiences working in major international pharmaceutical, biotechnology companies, and gained experiences in drug discovery and R&D as well as international business practices.
Cathy Yen
Chairman, Ms. Yen has an MBA from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, China and over 20 years of experiences in investment banking and private equity investment business in the Greater China region. She has invested over 30 companies and gone through most of the corporate development stages, from early, to growth and then to IPO stage. She therefore has extensive experiences in corporate development strategy as well as general corporate management.
Chen Chen, Ph.D.
CEO, Dr. Chen has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, China. He did a post-doc at Texas A&M University with Nobel Laureate, Professor Sir Derek H. R. Barton, and a post-doc at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Dr. Chen spent 15 years at Neurocrine as Scientist to Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry on multiple drug discovery projects, including the discovery of NBI-42902, elagolix, and NBI-30775 (R121919). He has published nearly 130 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and is the co-holder of over 25 US patents.
Jihui Yu
CFO, Ms. Yu is a CPA and Certified Auditor, having majored in Accounting and Economics at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. She has 14 years of broad experience in corporate accounting, auditing, finance management, internal control, and investment functions with foreign investment companies in China, including Jardine OneSolution, Morningside, and Philips Investments. She has also worked with INFOR and Symix as a Senior Consultant for Finance Management/ERP System Implementation serving joint venture and foreign investment companies in China.
Jiong Chen, Ph.D.
Vice President of Chemistry, Dr. Chen has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Texas Tech University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Oregon State University and Texas A&M University, and he worked at Discovery Partners International, USA, a San Diego-based CRO company, for 6 years. Dr. Chen is experienced in the area of combinatorial chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and custom synthesis, as well as project management. He has co-authored 15 research articles and 2 book chapters.
Hengyuan Lang, Ph.D.
Head of Exploratory Chemistry. Dr. Lang received his Ph.D. from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1989, and was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Florida in the group of Dr. Alan. R. Katritzky. Having worked at 4 different biotech companies in San Diego for over 13 years, he has extensive experience in medicinal chemistry, Organic synthesis and combinatorial chemistry etc.. As a major contributor, two drug candidates he worked on have reached to clinical trials. He owns more than 20 patents and is an author and co-author of more than 40 publications.
Charles (Qing) Huang
Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Huang has an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from Cal State University. Prior to joining Sundia, he served as President of Amnova, a pharmaceutical consulting firm in the US. He has 15 years of experience as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, including Neurocrine, Johnson & Johnson, and Amylin, and 4 years of experience on CRO project management and new market BD for advanced clinical candidates. Mr. Huang is the co-author of 20 publications, 10 presentations, and 12 US patents.
